Clinical Placement Schedules

Updates to Clinical Education related materials for the 2026-2027 academic year will be posted in Fall 2026.

The placement schedules below provide an overview of upcoming clinical placement units in the MHSc Speech-Language Pathology Program in academic year 2026-2027. Details regarding academic unit schedules and classroom-based coursework can be found here.

Unit 3: SLP 1500 Internship

This clinical placement provides Year 1 students with opportunities to develop assessment and intervention skills related to developmental communication and fluency disorders.

Student Level: Year 1
Placement Dates: March 1 or March 8 to April 30, 2027
Duration: 8 weeks (includes one week for Reading Week)
Focus Area: Developmental communication and fluency disorders

Unit 5: SLP 1507 Clinical Laboratory in Speech-Language Pathology

This Year 1 course combines synchronous and asynchronous case-based clinical learning activities designed to strengthen foundational clinical skills and professional competencies in the areas of child language, articulation, fluency, voice and AAC. Students engage in clinical debrief sessions led by SLPs and Audiologists to strengthen their learning and clinical reasoning skills.

Student Level: Year 1
Placement Dates: July 5 to August 6, 2027
Duration: 4 weeks

Unit 7: SLP 1508 Advanced Clinical Laboratory in Speech-Language Pathology

This clinical placement provides Year 2 students with supervised clinical experience supporting clients with neurogenic and structurally related communication disorders.

Student Level: Year 2
Placement Dates: January 4 to February 26, 2027
Duration: 8 weeks
Focus Area: Neurogenic and structurally related disorders

Unit 9: SLP 2500 Advanced Internship

As the final placement in the program, the Advanced Internship offers Year 2 students intensive clinical experience and professional preparation across a broad range of clinical settings and disorder areas.

Student Level: Year 2
Placement Dates: May 10 to July 16, 2027
Duration: 10 weeks
Focus Area: Any disorder area

SLP 1532 Clinical Laboratory in Hearing Disorders – Supplemental Audiology Placements

Availability: September 2026 to July 2027
Student Levels: Year 1 and Year 2
Placement Length: 1 to 3 days
