Improving the Lives of Children with Cleft Palate
Together with staff from the Hospital for Sick Children, Tim Bressmann is studying the use of tactile and visual biofeedback in the therapy of compensatory cleft palatearticulation.
Tim uses new software that allows him to superimpose a moving image of the tongue over a cartoon drawing of the vocal tract. This way, a child with cleft palate can watch her tongue move while talking and improve her articulation. Tim would be happy to demonstrate the software.
Tim is the lab director of the Voice and Resonance Lab.
