SLP Alumna Receives Mentorship Award
Dr. Catriona Steele, Associate Professor (status-only) was recently honoured by CASLPA’s 2013 Mentorship Award.
The Mentorship award is given to outstanding CASLPA members who have served as a role model for students and colleagues within the profession, demonstrated unique and outstanding individual contributions and have positively affected the development of individuals either through teaching or mentorship. The Awards ceremony was held at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria BC on April 26th. Dr Steele’s primary research is in the area of oropharyngeal swallowing disorders at the Toronto Rehab Institute/UHN. She currently teaches Anatomy to SLP students at U of T. Dr. Steele is also SLP Alumna as she obtained both her MHSc and her PhD in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology.
