SLP Convocation 2025 Recap: A Day of Pride, Reflection, and Celebration

MHSc Class of 2025

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology proudly celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2025 on October 28, as part of U of T’s Convocation Week, as graduates crossed the stage at the historic Convocation Hall to mark the completion of their two-year academic journey.

This year, the department was represented by six faculty members who participated in the formal academic procession: Dr. Tim Bressmann, Dr. Susan Wagner, Dr. Jo Deluzio, Dr. Luc De Nil, Dr. Monika Molnar, and Dr. Karen Gordon. Their presence underscored the department’s commitment to supporting students throughout every step of their studies, from the classroom to the convocation stage.

“The graduation ceremony provides a festive coda to a two-year learning journey,” said Dr. Tim Bressmann, Associate Chair of the Department. “It was wonderful to share this moment with our students and their loved ones.”

The day was especially meaningful for Dr. Jo Deluzio, who recently retired after teaching audiology and aural rehabilitation in the department. This graduating class marked her final cohort of students, and she was delighted to join them in celebrating their official graduation.

Just before the ceremony, the Department hosted a reception at Innis Town Hall to honour the graduates’ achievements and share in the excitement of this milestone with family, friends, faculty, and staff.

Congratulations once again to the Speech-Language Pathology Class of 2025! Your hard work, compassion, and dedication have left a lasting impression on the department and the broader speech-language pathology community.

Wishing you all the best in this next chapter!
